What makes a good loden backpack
A good hunting backpack should meet all the important hunting requirements. It should have sufficient capacity inside to accommodate essential equipment such as binoculars, cartridge cases, warm clothing, or a blanket. Additionally, it should provide multiple compartments and pockets where items of varying frequency of use, such as hunting licenses, flashlights, gloves, or provisions, can be easily stored and accessed.
Note: Our mineral-tanned greased nubuck leather, used for the straps and leather trimmings, is a proven and long-standing upper leather material. However, due to excessive perspiration, it may cause some discoloration on light textiles. Please take this into account if you use the backpack, for example, for hiking in the summer! The discoloration can be removed with suitable detergents.
Silent on the hunt
Any clattering or metallic sounds increase the risk of drawing the attention of the game, endangering the success of the hunt. The Waldkauz Cervus hunting backpack is crafted with meticulous care and attention to detail from the finest mountain loden and high-quality greased nubuck leather in our own workshop. In addition to two external pockets, it features four cotton interior pockets, two of which are open and two that can be securely closed with a zipper. One of the open pockets is designed to hold a smaller thermos or a spotting scope. The main opening of the hunting backpack can be closed with a drawstring, and the separate closure of the lid allows the Ansitzsack (seat cushion) to be securely fastened on top. Another side zipper on the main compartment provides access to the contents of the backpack, even when fully packed. The Cervus hunting backpack is completely free of any noise-causing closure parts. The drawstring of the main compartment runs through a leather guide, and the intelligently designed closures on the external pockets are also made entirely of nubuck leather. They can be easily opened, even with thick gloves, and practically produce no noise. The adjustable shoulder straps are lined with pure wool felt and adjusted to the appropriate size of the wearer using eyelets and leather straps, eliminating the need for metal buckles.Well-thought-out details
The two external pockets are positioned in such a way that they create an additional compartment behind them, where a foldable and space-saving seat pad is stored, providing comfort during cold and unpadded seating. One of the external pockets features a Velcro fastening for Waldkauz cartridge cases, which can be purchased separately. Elaborate quilted padding on the backside enhances comfort during longer hikes, and side-mounted loops allow you to attach small and medium-sized game or additional hunting equipment to the backpack. The field-tested and exceptionally attractive combination of materials, along with the high-quality craftsmanship, make the Waldkauz hunting backpack a valuable companion in all hunting situations.
