The fleece jacket that isn't really a fleece jacket!
We call it Loden fleece, the material from which this jacket is made. The fabric is warm and soft like fleece but is not made of polyester; instead, it is crafted from 100% virgin wool. Furthermore, it is not a knit fabric (as typical for fleece) but rather an authentic doubleface loden, which is a tightly woven fabric that has been intensively napped on both sides. With a weight of approximately 600g/m, it can be described as heavy-duty quality. We developed this fabric specifically for our purposes in collaboration with our textile manufacturer. It is custom-made for us and combines wind-resistant properties with excellent insulation and a supremely comfortable, super-soft feel. Through special yarn structure, thickness, and an elaborate napping process, the fabric obtains an incredibly soft and dense surface on both sides. Unlike most other loden fabrics that can feel slightly rough, our Loden fleece can be worn directly on the skin, for example, with short-sleeved shirts or t-shirts, without any scratchy sensation.
In general, it is best to choose your regular clothing size. To decide whether you prefer a more comfortable fit with greater freedom of movement or a tighter fit with slightly less mobility, refer to the additional values provided.
Back Length:
The back length is measured from the bottom edge of the collar and indicates the length of the hunting jacket.
Sleeve Length:
The measurement in the table represents the sleeve length of the loden jacket, measured from the shoulder seam to the cuff.
Waist:
The waist measurement describes the waist circumference of the jacket. To measure, we laid the jacket on a surface, closed the zipper, and measured from left to right at approximately belly button height.
The Loden hunting jacket is designed in a way that if you are between two sizes, we recommend ordering the smaller size. However, you can also give us a call, and we will advise you on the fit!
The intention behind this decision was primarily to avoid mixing items designed specifically for hunting with those that are not suitable for hunting. On the other hand, it is not a problem to use hunting garments for other purposes. However, hunters do not want to wear clothing that immediately catches the attention of wildlife, and they also don't want to go out with a shoulder bag that opens with an audible click! Therefore, we felt it was necessary to separate WALDKAUZ and STEINKAUZ in our opinion.
The design of the Loden fleece jacket "Urs"
The jacket features a sporty, modern cut that provides ample freedom of movement, making it particularly comfortable to wear during hunting. Two large zipper pockets with genuine leather trim offer space for essential items and provide warmth for your hands in winter. In the elbow, shoulder, and neck areas, we reinforced the outer fabric with patches of regular loden, also made of pure virgin wool. This additional reinforcement protects these highly stressed areas against wear and tear. The main elements of the jacket are double-stitched and equipped with a coverlock seam in addition to the main seam. This not only adds a stylish touch but also provides extra reinforcement for all seams. Even if a seam were to catch on branches, there is an additional layer of protection underneath.Cut and Sizes

One jacket, two brands – why is that?
For better understanding: The men's Loden fleece jacket "Urs" and the women's model "Adele" were developed around the same time as the creation of our outdoor brand STEINKAUZ. That is why you can find them labeled either as WALDKAUZ or STEINKAUZ Loden jackets. The hunting colors like moss green and brown are associated with one brand, while the colorful leisure colors belong to the other brand. The same applies, for example, to the rain cape WASSERMANN.The intention behind this decision was primarily to avoid mixing items designed specifically for hunting with those that are not suitable for hunting.
