Waxed cotton is cotton treated with wax. If it's a new product made from this fabric, the wax application will be quite generous. As a result, the garment may initially release some wax, which could be described as "oiling." So if you were to place a new apron, for example, on a newspaper, the newspaper would eventually have wax stains. This effect diminishes after multiple uses.Stain removal and re-waxing:
Avoid using any cleaning agents, detergents, washing machines, or chemicals for cleaning. If cleaning with water is absolutely necessary (usually, dry brushing with a very soft brush is sufficient), rinse the apron with cold water using a sponge or a very soft brush.
