Our Tannhorn II hiking backpack is not only perfect for day trips into nature but also serves as a stylish everyday backpack. The combination of premium loden made from pure virgin wool, sturdy, extra-greased nubuck leather, and wool felt makes this backpack a timeless and elegant companion.

Loden, Leather, and Felt: The best nature has to offer!

For the outer fabric, we selected pure virgin wool loden from Germany. The back panel is made from highly abrasion-resistant loden with a slight polyamide blend, ensuring durability in high-wear areas and long-lasting enjoyment of the Tannhorn II backpack.
The wool felt, produced in Germany, is also made from sheep’s wool and is used for padding the shoulder straps.

The greased nubuck leather we use has a high fat content, which protects it from drying out too quickly, making it highly weather-resistant and durable. The leather tells the life story of the cattle it comes from: small scars, wrinkles, or even branding marks make each backpack unique.

Important Note: Our mineral-tanned greased nubuck leather, used for the straps, is a high-quality, tried-and-tested leather. However, due to strong perspiration, it may slightly rub off onto light-colored fabrics. Please keep this in mind when using the bag for summer hikes! Any discoloration can be removed with appropriate detergents.

Plenty of space and smart organization

In addition to the approx. 19-liter main compartment, we have integrated multiple additional pockets and compartments to offer plenty of storage and organization options: Inside the main compartment, there is a closable zippered pouch made of lining fabric. A front pocket, secured with a strap, is divided into two smaller compartments inside. On both sides, there are two exterior pockets each, providing quick access to essentials like a water bottle, pens, or other small items—without the need to open the main flap.

Comfortable to carry

Our loden is robust yet soft enough to conform to the wearer’s back, ensuring a comfortable fit. To prevent the straps from digging into the shoulders when carrying heavier loads, we have reinforced them with an additional layer of sturdy wool felt.
