"Zampel" is an old northern German term for a simple duffel bag in which sailors stored their belongings. While most modern duffel bags are made from waterproof plastics, our "Zampel" is traditionally made from original British waxed cotton, also known as "waxed cotton."
It is a versatile pack item available in various sizes, suitable for everything from small parts or tool storage to camping cookware and a spacious clothing bag for canoe trips. The bag adapts to its contents and fits into any niche due to its soft construction. This is especially important when space is limited, and every corner needs to be used efficiently, such as in a camper van, on a canoe trip, or on a motorcycle.

Proven material: waxed cotton
Waxed cotton is highly water-repellent. Unless the duffel bag goes overboard and floats in water for hours, it will largely protect its contents from external moisture. However, it is not hermetically sealed, meaning water can eventually penetrate, but this also allows for some air and moisture exchange inside. In everyday use, the "Zampel" has many practical applications: it can serve as an unconventional shopping bag or sports bag thanks to its carrying strap. It definitely stands out visually.Construction and functionality of the pack sack
The "Zampel" duffel bag is available in 4 different sizes, with capacities ranging from approximately 4 to 39 liters. It is closed simply by rolling and hooking. The edges of the opening are reinforced with webbing and leather, providing rigidity. By rolling the opening two or three times and connecting the rust-free closure hook to the opposite loop, the bag is sealed and cannot unroll itself (see pictures). In the closed state, this closure also forms a carrying handle. There is also a grip loop made of webbing and leather on the bottom. The included carrying strap is looped through the top closure hook and hooked into one of the two eyelets at the bottom. This allows the duffel bag to be comfortably worn over the shoulder like a messenger bag. The strap can also be used for securing the load.What to expect from waxed fabrics
