Whether you use it for your daily commute to work or as a pure leisure bag, for sports equipment, or as hand luggage on trips – our loden bags stand out for their timeless design and the exceptional combination of materials.

Uncompromising quality: Our choice of materials

The material quality of our products is as important to us as their craftsmanship and design. Therefore, we make no compromises when selecting materials for the production of a STEINKAUZ bag. This model is made from pure virgin wool loden, which is manufactured for us in southern Germany. Loden has traditionally been used for ages in the production of backpacks and clothing. It still has an excellent reputation for warmth, durability, and breathability. Even today, loden is very popular among hunters, hikers, and mountain farmers in the Alpine regions and is particularly favored by people who prefer a good natural product over synthetic fabrics.

Please note: Our mineral-tanned greased nubuck leather used for the straps is a proven and long-used upper leather. Heavy perspiration can cause it to stain light-colored textiles. This should be taken into account if you use the bag, for example, in summer for hiking or strenuous cycling! However, the stains can be removed with appropriate detergents.

Plenty of storage space and solid craftsmanship

The lined main compartment of the bag has a volume of about 10 liters. The base area of about 40 x 30 cm is sufficient to accommodate most standard notebooks without any problems. Inside, there is also a lockable zippered pocket and two open loden compartments for storing smaller items. The two leather straps on the outside of the lid also provide the possibility to secure a piece of clothing or similar on the outside of the lid. The 4 cm wide shoulder strap is adjustable in length with an antique brass-alloy buckle. For particularly high stability, the strap ends are sewn onto a double-reinforced loden layer on the sides of the bag. The shoulder bag is closed with the mentioned straps, which are held at the front by two brass buckles.
