Not your usual fleece jacket

Whether hiking, climbing, mountain biking, or leisurely mushroom picking - with our loden fleece jacket, you're well equipped!
When it gets cooler, the fleece jacket can be quickly thrown on to provide warmth without causing overheating. The jacket can be worn as a second layer under a hardshell or as an outer layer, for example, as a replacement for a softshell jacket.

The material: Not softshell, not hardshell, but lambshell from the lambskin!

Our loden fleece jacket "Urs" is made from 100% pure virgin wool. It is breathable, insulating, and very robust. Due to the elaborate double-sided napping process of the loden fabric, the jacket is pleasantly soft and offers high wearing comfort. Loden is a natural product that requires minimal care: odors disappear in the fresh air, and dirt can be left to dry and then brushed off. But what makes our special loden fleece truly exceptional are its climate properties. The dense weave of the double-face loden and the fine pile on the surface make the jacket almost resistant to wind penetration - all without a membrane! And precisely because we don't need a membrane, the loden fleece remains highly breathable, ensuring an optimal inner climate.

Modern and well-thought-out design

The jacket features a modern cut and offers ample freedom of movement, making it comfortable to wear during sports activities or outdoor pursuits. Two large zipper pockets, trimmed with genuine leather, provide space for essentials and keep hands warm in winter. We have reinforced the fabric on the elbows, shoulders, and neck with additional layers of regular loden, also made from pure virgin wool, to provide extra protection against wear and tear in highly stressed areas.

One jacket, two brands - why?

For clarification: The men's loden fleece jacket "Urs" and the women's model "Adele" were created around the same time as the launch of our outdoor brand STEINKAUZ. Therefore, they are sometimes available under the label WALDKAUZ and sometimes as STEINKAUZ loden jackets. The hunting colors such as moss green and brown were assigned to one brand, while the vibrant leisure colors were associated with the other brand. The same can be seen, for example, with the rain cape "WASSERMANN."

The intention behind this decision was primarily to avoid mixing hunting-specific items with those that are not suitable for hunting. Conversely, it is not a problem, but no hunter wants to go hunting wearing clothing that immediately catches the attention of wildlife, and likewise, they don't want to venture out with a shoulder bag that opens with an audible click! Hence, we believe it is necessary to distinguish between WALDKAUZ and STEINKAUZ.
