Obedience pays off: The Slip-Stop Collar "Bremso"
A slip-stop collar is used for the gentle training of dogs in terms of leash control. Assuming the correct size and circumference adjustment, the slip-stop collar can be easily and smoothly slid over the dog's head and ears without resistance, hanging loosely around the neck without unnecessarily distressing the four-legged friend. It only becomes noticeable when the dog pulls on the leash. In that case, the slip-stop mechanism limits the tightening of the collar circumference, giving the dog the feeling that pulling on the leash is uncomfortable. When properly adjusted, this feeling is uncomfortable but does not choke the dog. Depending on the size of the collar, this tightening distance varies between 6 cm (S) and 8.5 cm (XL).
Another very important aspect of slip-stop collars is the safety of the dog. While a regular, loosely fitting collar can encourage the dog to wriggle out of it when it opposes the handler and "doesn't want to," the slip-stop collar immediately tightens under tension, preventing this behavior and eliminating this negative learning effect.
The neck circumference of the dog specified in the table is always measured loosely. When there is tension on the leash, the circumference decreases by the indicated slip-stop distance.

Construction of the Slip-Stop Collar "Bremso"
The collar is essentially made in a "sandwich construction" using tightly woven 20 mm webbing and two layers of oiled nubuck leather. The wider layer of leather (2.3 - 3.3 cm) serves as padding against the dog's neck, while the narrower leather strip encases the webbing from the outside, providing stability. The leather ends in the area of the slip-stop and size adjustment, allowing the adjusting slider and the slip mechanism to operate without obstacles. The Slip-Stop Collar "Bremso" is available in 4 different sizes, each of which can be adjusted within a certain range to fit the dog's neck circumference. To find the right size for your dog, measure its neck circumference with a loose measuring tape and try to land in the middle of the specified range (see table). In general, the collars can be worn a few centimeters tighter than indicated, but this will result in a significant amount of excess webbing.
