Our new favorite piece: The Loden shirt "Grimbart"
Does anyone here remember the 70s series "The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams," in which the bearded mountain man James "Grizzly" Adams lives alone in a log cabin in the depths of the Rocky Mountains with his bear Ben and a host of other forest dwellers? I loved those stories and the rugged Adams, and as a child, I was fascinated by his wild wilderness life and particularly remembered the coarse wool shirt he wore. So when we decided to add a rustic loden shirt to our WALDKAUZ collection, the old Adams was the first thing that came to mind. We wanted our shirt to be just like his, maybe with a slightly more modern cut.
Well, in the end, our talented seamstresses had more influence, and they prevented me from designing a woolen balloon with sleeves. But even with a modern, well-fitting cut, the "Grimbart" shirt is far from an ordinary lumberjack or hunting shirt—it has become something truly special!

Merino-hunting shirt with a cut
The woolen shirt is sewn from a thin loden fabric (which is still much thicker than most shirt fabrics) made in Germany. The pure virgin wool, as you know from our other loden products, keeps you warm, regulates moisture, and breathes very well. The cut is slightly tailored and body-contoured but not too tight. After all, you want to be able to move freely while hunting and being outdoors. If the body is a bit snug, the circumference can be increased by approximately 4 cm by opening two extra back seams designed for this purpose. The "Grimbart" shirt has two button-flap pockets, a Kent collar, and cuffs that can be closed with two buttons, allowing you to wear it comfortably with rolled-up sleeves. The badger gray color not only complements our other shades in the WALDKAUZ and STEINKAUZ world, but it also blends perfectly with nature, being low in contrast and inconspicuous during the day amidst the green of the forest and in pale moonlight—just like the natural coloring of Master Grimbart.Size Chart

Notes on the size chart and selecting the correct size
Important: These measurements are for the garment and not for your body measurements! In general, it is best to use your regular clothing size as a guide. To decide whether you want to wear the shirt comfortably with ample movement or prefer a more fitted look, refer to the additional values provided.Care for the woolen shirt
You don't need to wash the Grimbart shirt after every wear like a regular dress shirt. Loden can be hung out in the fresh air overnight to refresh. If the shirt does require more care, you can take it to a laundry service or wash it yourself. However, please make sure to use the wool wash cycle of your machine (maximum 30 degrees Celsius) and use a wool detergent. After drying, iron the shirt into shape using a steam iron.slide 5 to 8 of 24
