Our WALDKAUZ Loden Fleece is our most elaborate and expensive loden variant. It's made from a material known as double-faced loden, which is additionally softened to create a particularly plush feel. The double-faced structure brings about exceptional density, and through the fluffing process — despite the misleading name — it becomes remarkably soft and fluffy. Loden fleece, therefore, provides exceptional warmth and is even comfortable to wear directly against the skin, which is not always the case with pure virgin wool. Additionally, the fabric offers an optimal balance of warmth and breathability. It's made from a material known as double-faced loden, which is additionally softened to create a particularly plush feel. The double-faced structure brings about exceptional density, and through the fluffing process — despite the misleading name — it becomes remarkably soft and fluffy. Loden fleece, therefore, provides exceptional warmth and is even comfortable to wear directly against the skin, which is not always the case with pure virgin wool. Additionally, the fabric offers an optimal balance of warmth and breathability. As virgin wool has the ability to absorb moisture penetrating in the rain and still provide warmth when wet, a jacket made from loden fleece can be worn in the rain for quite a while before it becomes uncomfortable. Loden fleece is excellent for crafting lightweight jackets, soft and warm blankets, capes, pillows, and anything that requires softness coupled with excellent heat retention.
