Rugged hunting trousers for nature enthusiasts: Our loden trousers "Bux"
"When are you finally going to make a hunting trousers in loden?" – A question that has been asked countless times at trade fairs in recent years. We took our time, but the saying "Good things come to those who wait" didn't come out of nowhere. In the end, all the testing and modifications paid off because our "Bux" has become a true character!
The knee section is shaped ergonomically with darts, providing good freedom of movement while walking and kneeling. The knees are not only the most stressed area of trousers but also highly exposed when sitting, as the fabric lies smooth there. It is the area where cold spreads fastest during a sit and seeps into the joints. These are two reasons why we have added a second layer of loden to the knee section.
At the back, a high-rise waistband extends well above the belt line to provide an extra bit of warmth to the kidney area and prevent cooling from the back during winter. The "Bux" is designed for comfortable wear and also features a full-length lining for additional insulation. The loden hunting trousers are closed with a button and hook, providing double security. The belt loops can accommodate belts up to 4 cm wide.
Natural dirt such as mud or sweat is easiest to remove by simply ignoring it until it completely dries. Then, just rub it lightly with your hand or a soft clothes brush, and the dirt will disappear. Dealing with odorous contamination is even easier with loden: Simply hang the trousers outdoors overnight, and wool and fresh air will do their work by the next morning.
If the dirt is more stubborn, the trousers can also withstand a wool wash cycle (with wool detergent!) in the washing machine. However, as with all products made of pure virgin wool, we recommend hand washing or taking them to a professional cleaner. Machine washing in non-wool cycles, just like with merino shirts or underwear, means the end of an otherwise long friendship.
Take a measuring tape and first measure your waist size. Measure on the line where you wear your belt. The measuring tape should lie loosely and without tension, and it's fine if you have a shirt underneath as it will later be tucked into the trousers. If you don't have a measuring tape, a string will do, which you can mark and then measure against a ruler.
The tolerance values are approximate and provide an estimate of how much an alteration tailor can still modify.
Made for hunting but too good to be worn only there
The "Bux" loden trousers are warm and robust hunting trousers made from our high-quality 570g loden fabric, crafted from pure virgin wool. Patch pockets on the front and back, as well as a slim knife pocket on the right side, provide space for small items and keep your hands warm. The knee section is shaped ergonomically with darts, providing good freedom of movement while walking and kneeling. Water-repellent and easy to care for
In addition to its natural properties, the loden fabric is treated with silicone. Silicone is free of PTF and PFC, the environmental toxins that have been a hot topic in recent years due to their non-biodegradable nature. While the trousers are not waterproof, they offer good water-repellent properties. If loden gets wet, it's not a problem. Anyone who has ever worn genuinely wet loden knows that it's not an empty marketing promise when we say that wool, unlike synthetics, still provides warmth even when wet.Natural dirt such as mud or sweat is easiest to remove by simply ignoring it until it completely dries. Leg length, hip, and waist size vary greatly among men. The "Bux" hunting trousers have been extensively tested on various body types and cut to be as compatible as possible. But if they are not a perfect fit right away, that's not a problem at all. Thanks to their cut, they can be easily adjusted in terms of leg length and hip circumference, similar to suit trousers. Any alteration tailor can turn them into a perfectly fitting made-to-measure garment for a small fee.How to measure correctly
