If our fluffy “Huber” jackets made from thick loden fleece are too warm for you, you’ll love our new “Raudi”! For this jacket, we use a smoother woven loden and designed it with an even more comfortable cut.
Unlike loden fleece, woven loden is thinner and less fluffy. While slightly less warm, it’s particularly wind-resistant thanks to the dense pile pressed onto both sides of the fabric. Due to loden's excellent climate-regulating properties, this jacket is ideal for a wide range of temperatures. Whether hiking, trekking, or enjoying your free time, it keeps you warm and balances body temperature through moisture absorption, breathability, and strong wind resistance. In many cases, it provides enough insulation without needing an additional layer. Only in truly cold conditions does it require an outer layer. From spring through fall, the Raudi is in its element.
Loden is sustainable
Wool is a renewable raw material and biodegradable. As a pure natural fiber, it doesn’t remain in the ecosystem or cause harm. Our loden is made in Germany—fairly produced and meeting the highest quality standards. Naturally, it also complies with the Oeko-Tex 100 Standard.
The Perfect Outdoor Material: STEINKAUZ Loden
Our loden is made from 100% pure new wool. It’s breathable, warm, and highly durable. Loden, being a natural product, is low-maintenance: odors disappear when aired out, and dirt can be brushed off once dry. What makes our loden especially unique are its climate properties. The dense weave and fine surface pile make it nearly windproof—without needing a membrane! And because we don’t use membranes, the fabric remains breathable and ensures optimal interior climate regulation.
Fitting information
The jacket features a comfortable cut, offering ample freedom of movement—especially suitable for sports and outdoor activities. Compared to our “Huber” models, the fit is slightly narrower. The raglan sleeve design, already successful in our “Pedalist” cycling jackets, is used here too. Raglan sleeves extend in one piece up to the collar, with a seam running diagonally from the armpit to the neck, instead of ending at the shoulder. This design offers a better fit across body types and adds to the jacket’s comfort.
The sleeves are slightly longer—as is typical for outdoor jackets—and can be adjusted at the cuffs with Velcro to prevent slipping.
